We are excited to welcome Mira Eklund, Stockholm-based artist, composer, performer and actor, reflecting on her recent exhibition at Väst på Fjället, entitled “En samling, en horisont, en kör, en till, en solnedgång”. In the exhibition Mira Eklund has engaged with topics of artistic expressions in relation to memories, voices and horizons, using mixed media of sound, music, singing, installation, watercolor, sculpture, and video. In this guest visit at UmArts she will talk, show, and perform elements of these recent works and invite for an informal discussion around her experiences.

Mira Eklund holds an MFA in Fine Art and BFA in Sound Design, and has many years experience of exhibiting and performing as media artist, actor, singer, and musician. Eklund has previously shown her works on stages such as Stockholms Stadsteater, Inkonst in Malmö, Fylkingen and Atalante in Gothenburg, as well as appearing at Bonniers Konsthall and Orionteatern, and she has also been active on the music scene through the acts of The Tourettes, Intergalactica and Lux Lumen. In 2014, she was nominated a Guldbagge for her role as Ann-Sofie in Lisa Langseth’s film Hotell.
